positive reinforcement
No negative waves, always build on what you see that is right, not what is wrong.Try to sandwhich the negativr=e between to positive comments.
If you run into a negative, generally you can change it to a positive by asking question to show them they can find the answer.
Always show a student and construct your life in such a manner that your word is bond. Do what you say you are going to do or communicate as soon as possible if something change. Never follow that tarnish rule, Do as I say not as I do.
I beleave apostive attitude is all ways best
I too have seen this with students that Have IEP's and want to try and do testing just like the other students. The IEP's are a crutch. When they see the can succeed without them. they start applying themselve just like regular students and pass.
I guess we have all made some mistakes over and over unfortunately, so as we inspect some of the work done by the students and find they have errd, making a positive statement of the correct way and then show them where they went wrong and then tell them why. Sometimes testimonials are good right about then.
Coming across positive is always a guarantee a student will stay engaged & encouraged. I always take a failure if you want to call it that, and try to make it a learning experience.
try to steer all of the wrong doings, or mistakes out of the equation. focus on the positives, let the students know there is a better way of accomplishing what they did easier. if the student asks how they did, just tell them in a positive way so they can stay motivated and driven to learn more
When you tell a student thier work has some things for them to correct always explain WHY it's not right and let them know you think they have done a fairly good job but can do better. As I tell my students.."It's not what you say but how you say it!".
Many students have self esteem issues, and a fear of failing. I have seen many students overcome their issues, and improve their grades because positive reinforcement techniqes were applied.
I agree with you Frank always show re-enforcement with positive remarks and encouragement. Afterwards take some time and guide them to the correct answer or task at hand.
I agree best way to help a student who fails a task is to tell them to try again I know you can do this. This ease's their mind and takes presure off them
