Relevance

I try to always think about what is relevant to the student. A certain amount of theory is fine, but it has to have application at some level. The instructor needs to be able to demonstrate this to the student.

Neil- I wholeheartedly agree. We offer lectures on the topic for that day, and some "what if" scenarios are included, at least in my lectures.
Then we move on to production. I let the students get set up and then I begin to perform my demonstrations at appropriate times. Some students get it, while others tend to need a more individual approach. But...I definately make sure I put it out there for them to see.

Hi Neil,
Relevancy and application are two words that you need to make a part of your instructional planning each day. From your remarks it sounds like you are working very hard to make both of them a part of your delivery. Keep up the good work.
