How to manage teaching styles

What teaching styles are there really?

Coming from a sales background my style understands the need to keep their attention and break up the tasks/lecture to keep them engaged. I would always be open to learn more hands on techniques.

That is a good point. We are all different and I need to remember when I teach, that students all learn differently. I need to try to provide the proper mix of visual learning, hands on learning and audio learning to reach my students more effectively.

Thanks,

Nathan Foster

There are multiple styles as there are multiple age groups and ethic composition of teachers. Some educators are more motivators, while others model their teaching styles; as educators of adult learners, the teaher needs to reminder we all do not learn the same. Some students are more visual or auditory and some want to be on hands with their education process.

I totally agree that the teaching style depends upon your personality and what you feel confortable with. It also depends on what type of class you have. If they like to talk then talking about things will work great. It also depends on the day too. Some days are quiet and some days are louder. The style has to be adjusted according to the circumstances.

Hi Margo,
A teaching style is how you present the information and set the tone for the class. It is a mix of your personality and the way you deliver content. A teaching style should be dynamic and focused to make sure your students can benefit from your knowledge and experience.
