Developing different learning styles...
If someone is has a tactile learning style, can you help to develop another type of learning stykle? Can you develop all 3?
I agree Curtis, having the students to learn more than one learning style give the students a more verstile exprience. This will be a helpful tool when learning different subjects because one learning style will not work for all subjects they will encounter in the future.
Hi Curtis,
Yes, it is good for individuals to be able to work in other areas of learning styles beyond the one they prefer. They will have to work in these other areas when they are out in the work world so they need some expertise in these other areas as well.

Hi Marcus,
Yes you can develop their abilities to use the other three learning style areas. For example, even though one may not like to learn new material through reading by having reading activities the individual can develop skill at pulling out essential information from the reading material. The individual may never read for pleasure since that is not a learning preference for them but they can read for "benefit". Also, we are not talking about reading skill here such as comprehension but reading as a preferred intake method. Those with reading difficulties need assistance in developing strategies that will help them to comprehend and decode the reading material.

The style of learning has developed for that person over time. It's what has worked best for that person under that situation, or subject matter. I think it is possible. It would also work to the persons advantage to learn more than one type of learning pattern.
