Moving around
Walking around while lecturing is a form comfort.
Moving around is essential. Think about how you would like to be taught. Just sitting and staring or watching the instructor gliding around engaged with his/her audience. How boring would a play be with cardboard actors?
I walk around the class to make eye contact with the students and this gives me the chance to ensure that I have made my point and that I have not left any thing out of my lecture.
Hi Kathy,
Little things really help rest students' brains. Yes, moving around really helps. Also, a pause of 2-3 seconds lets the students look up from their notebooks and the eye/mind movement is a reset as well then you can go back to the lecture. Watch and read your students so you will know when to introduce these breaks.

I have read that moving around during lectures does help lengthen the attention span by allowing the brain to reset a bit. Is this what you mean?
Im not sure what you mean. But walking around during a test is a good way to prevent cheating or to catch cheaters.
Hi James,
Not sure what you are referring to about "form comfort". Would you expand on this?
Thanks.
