Different learning styles
I think that as an instructor it is very important to understand and realize that no two students are alike and they all have different ways of learning. Getting to know what each student's form of learning method is and how each one retain the information plays a major part as to how well the student will do for that course.

I wonder if devising teaching techniques combining more than one learning style could be very effective(especially with children). One of my best math teachers combined singing math "jingles" while visualizing the equations written on the board.

There are numerous assessments of student learning styles or preferences. Once you know the preferences you then can develop instructional content that touches on the different preferences. This way the students can work in the different preferences to become engaged in the course.

Yes, it is. When I have this I try to play to both their preferences and that way they can balance each other's style while acquiring the content.

It is interesting when two students with different learning styles happen to be best friends and sit next to each other in class.
I try to vary my delivery as much as possible to accommodate different learning styles in my classes. It is very exciting to notice those student who respond when you are teaching to their style of learning.
I think it is necessary to get to know the student's learning style. Just by speaking with them on a daily basis about general subjects will indicate what style of learnig they are use to. Everyone is so different.
I believe this is very true indeed. Every student learns differently. As instructors, it is very important to get to know your students, if even just on the most basics of levels so that we can deliver the material to them in a way that is more suitable FOR them as individuals.
