Learning styles

How can we adapt to all the different learning styles when classes are only 4 weeks

Eddie,
Good advice for instructors to follow. Variety and change of pace goes a long way in keeping student focus.

Juan,
You probably won't be able to but what you can do is offer instruction in the different learning preference areas and that way each student will have an opportunity to use their preference at some time in the course. In the meantime they will be able to expand their abilities to work in the other preference areas.

I agree that IS a challenge, and sometimes you don't even recognize a students learning style until a couple weeks in, so the best thing that i have found is to just keep your class varied with ALL the types of presentation available; lecture, visual presentations, hands on demonstration and the like. You may not be able to totally cover all the needs of all the students all the time, but you will keep the class lively and get the basics across. Always let your students know that you are available for any further clarification if needed. If your students know that you are genuinely TRYING to reach them, then they will meet you half way, regardless of their learning style!
