Yes, they do give structure and order to how content will be shared. Without lesson plans a course can be derailed very quickly and students will lose their interest in what is being shared.

I agree. Lesson plans are the foundation for the class session. If there is not a solid foudation in place, students will be confused. There has to be a step-by-step plan. Students rely on their instructor to lead them to the main objective of the class. Lesson plans give students structure and confidence that the instructor know what she or he is doing.
Lesson plans is vital in teaching, it gives us the guide we need to pull through.
