Relevance into the classroom
It is important to be relevance into the classroom. Teaching students what you have learned in the industry is very important so they can really see how it is. They can learn from what you have learned and maybe even learn from your mistakes. Using real life situations will keep your students engaged. How do you keep them interested? Always asking questions or explaining the many roles in their field of study.
I always show examples of my professional work in my design classes, and I talk about the process involved in producing the work so the students can gain a sense of the experience.
Chase,
Can never say too much about relevancy. Relevancy and application makes the course content increase in value for the students. They start to see themselves and their future coming together in a positive way.

Relevance is very important in the classroom. I think it is more important to show how the class relates to the students and what they need to learn. The more the students feel the class relates to their career the more they will focus on the class.
