Lots of work

Yes always underpaid....accept it

Cathey,
Welcome to teaching. I like your attitude and enthusiasm for teaching. Both are needed for teaching excellence and it is going to be yours as a result of the time and effort you are investing in your professional development. I wish you much success in your new career.

I am new to teaching as well and knew it would be a lot of work, but am realizing just how much work it is with time involved preparing for classes. It has been rewarding so far and I only hope it continues to be and that I continue to love it as much as I do now!

Laurie,
With your passion for your field and your enthusiasm for teaching about it you are going to do well. There will be some rough spots along the way but that is how you gain experience. Before long you are going to sharing content with your students in a way that is comfortable and supportive while enjoying the interaction you get to have with your learners. This is when teaching is really fun.

I am new to teaching, but have been looking forward to it for quite some time. Maybe I will get tired of it, but I enjoy all of the time I spend on it.

Nicolas,
The rewards from being an educator are many even if superior pay is not one of them. I have been teaching for many years and am proud to say that I have made many great friends and helped to shape many very successful careers through my contact with students. This is the legacy that I am proud leave when I step out of teaching. We as educators need to find our rewards in ways that brings us satisfaction in ways other than dollars.
