I agree, I think a good instructor is the one that takes into consideration the learning style of each of their student.
Hi Kelly- You are exactly correct. There is no doubt that it takes more work from the instructor to adress all the styles but the pay-off is amazing. Also once an instructor learns to incorporate the styles it becomes so much easier to do.
I think it is true that you need to incorporate all four learning styles in order to reach all of the students. Each student has his or her preferred method of learning, and if all of them are not utilized, then some students are not being reached. Also, some students overlap in their learning styles, and incorporating various methods of taking the information in will also overlap in the classroom.
If all of the learning styles are not incorporated, then all of the learning needs of the students are not being met in the best way possible.
I very much agree, I have found that during lectures that don't have a high amount of visual demo's vs. those that do, I have had to do tutoring or re-cap with some of the visual type learners.
