Kinesthetic Learning with limited resource
I had to teach one year with little to no hands on materials. I instead made the students create and act out scenarios. The would have to create paper props, so even though we did not have any actual materials we had paper ones and they really did well. However, I would really like some more ideas on things that someone could do with limited resources.
HHi Althea- Welcome to ED 103! Fun in a Psych class? Where were you when I had to take Psych? ;-) Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career! Susan
In my Psychology class, we do collages of abstract concepts, and the students are the scavengers. Instead of fancy poster boards, we use the sides of cardboard boxes and grocery bags. They're encouraged to find and use objects, scrap paper, magazine pictures, etc. The kinesthetic learners love the activity.
Hi Eduordo- When it comes to our students most good instructors are great scavengers! Best wishes- Susan
Depending on what it is you are teaching you might try asking vendors for items returned for warranties,ex.automotive,- auto parts stores junkyards.
