Learning Styles
I teach office application courses and I can tell very quickly those students that are tactile learners compared to a auditory person. I make sure I lecture about each tutorial as well as demonstrate how the objectives are completed using the software. Of course, not all enjoy the lecture and will just continue doing hands-on.
Hi Robert, That break in lab that you take to "check-in" with students is excellent - it keeps them on track and gives you some immediate feedback! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

One thing I do is during lab(hands on), I stop everybody and have them group around me and will go over what they are working on. There are parts of my lecture that I skip in class just to cover our lab.
I agree with mark, it is sometimes challanging to make EVERYONE happy. all you can do is try to accomodate all the different styles to the best of your ability.
we are teaching to every type of learner possible. it can make for a challenge to come up with a few different ideas/projects to please everyone and keep everyone involved in whats going on
