Teaching all learning styles or not?
I think it's good to expose each student to all types of learning styles in order for everyone to understand the course material. The other option for smaller intimate class size is to present the material to each student in their own learning style. This obviously will not work with larger classes, but it may nuture those students in the small classes to achieve their goals better in the real world.
Hi Michael, Thanks for your post to the forum. Excellent advice for us all! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

While a smaller class size may not be possible, a large class could be broken into smaller work groups. A large class used for lecture. Smaller groups to work on a project or interaction. Instructor can also interact with smaller groups individually and with larger class as a whole. Best of all worlds and learning styles.
As Educators, we should try to present new information so effectively that each learning style is expressed. This way no student is left out and it also helps to stretch the learning capacity of those who are set on a particular learning style.
I agree teaching all learning styles is necessary. All students are different and to teach only one style would be much too rigid and the success rate of the students would be impaired.
Hi Ryan,
I also try to incorporate a variety of lessons that will meet the different types of learners, I'm finding difficult now with now with a larger class. The large class is a blend of established student and new students, trying to alter my lessons and assess the new students is challenging.

Hi Ryan, That's a good point - classroom size definitely plays a major role in how we can accommodate the learning styles. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
