auditory vs visual

How can I combine teaching strategies to best help all of my students learn the material?

Hi Sharon, Thanks for your post to the forum. That would be an ideal mix of delivery options! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

We should try to include presentations that cover all four of the learning styles, for instance a reading assignment or handout, a lecture with power points, passing around tools of the trade, and a written summary or report.

Hi Jodi, Thanks for your post to the forum. That's a good suggestion about Powerpoint! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I agree. A good solid presentation is both visual and auditory. I teach in a design school so visual learners are everywhere.

Trying different techniques that can utilize all the styles. For example powerpoint can be both visual and auditory.

Hi Marcie, Thanks for your post to the forum. Since our goal is to help students with diverse learning styles learn in optimal ways, I maintain that it is best to vary our delivery as much as possible. This also serves to acclimate students to other styles which is something they will encounter in the workplace.
