combined method is the best

Everybody has specific methods of learning. As an instructor with a large group of class it is always difficult to know everybodies preference. So it is always best to use multiple methods. Even everybody has their own preferences of learning methods. It does not mean they will not learn at all when other methods are used. So it is best for the instructors to use multiple methods. This way we can get the best results.

I have always found it hard to combined both methods. I've always seem to be doing one or the other.

Hi Kevin, Thanks for your post to the forum. I also use a combination of delivery options with my adult students. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I teach at a small technical college and I have mostly adult learners. I find that it is best to use a combined approach in content delivery, and to use different resources to meet the needs of the different learners.

Hi William, Good question and one I have also thought about. I occasionally use scavenge hunts which get students involved.

I try to keep the class engaged by using different presentation styles. However, everyone needs to read the book. It's impossible to cover hundreds of pages in class by ANY method of instruction. What's the best way to encourage students to read, other than flunking them on a test when they don't?

Hi Shah, Thanks for your post to the forum. I definitely agree and also think students can learn to adapt to other styles. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
