Kinesthetic learners

In my department most of our students seem to be Kinesthetic learners. Even auditory and visual learners enjoy the hands on activities that correlate with the reading material and powerpoints. Most of our lessons are based on a 50/50 ratio of didactic and lab. The students work hard but do have fun with this approach.

Hi Amy, Thanks for your post the forum. So great to get all that information up front! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I, myself am a kinesthetic learner, so I embrace other students like myself. Also, I learn from students that do not learn that way. It's pretty much a conversation starter at the begining of all my mods. When I first meet my students, I always give them the chance to tell me what how they like to learn and what can make my class more interesting for them personally.

Hi Kathleen, Thanks for your post to the forum. I think most students enjoy variety in their learning options. I know that especially for my evening students, they need to get up and move occasionally just to keep alert after working all day! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
