Learning Styles
I have found that a blend of the learning styles seem to work the best teaching diesel technology classes. After explaining how a component operates, looking at pictures/video of the component, and after physically removing/reinstalling the part ties the lesson together for the students. I have had good results with this style. If I were to skip just one of the learning styles, the students would be completely lost and not fully understand the material.
I always noticed that a combination of learning styles works best to reassure that the students retain all the information and so you reach all learning styles in the classroom
I agree. I think for the most part lecture is necessary in order deliver a message but visual aids and actual practice is essential in the students fully grasping the material.
Hi Ernest, Thanks for your post to the forum. I agree that varying delivery options is the best strategy. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.
