lecture

i think Q&A during lecture lets you know how the students are grasping the information.

Q & A is often the best way to really know if the student is grasping the intended content. This is a great way to determine who needs additional support.

Yeah, I almost never use the term lecture in front of students. It often seems like "Lecture = Cue Boredom". I prefer to interact, make little jokes, asks (slightly) irrelevant questions that I know will interest students and bring their focus back, be a little goofy, and sometimes ask questions that are very simple at first just to build their confidence in participating. I want them walking out of my class with new knowledge and looking forward to their next class, not dreading me.
