I like to question the students after i present material so i can get a feel of how well they grasped the material.
I sometimes ask questions just because I'm tired of listening to myself talk. It seems to be a good state change.
Hi Greg- I like to do that as well. Don't our students come up with some interesting questions?? Susan
Sometimes I'll have the students ask each other questions related to course content near the end of a day or course.
HI Walter- Thanks for your post to the forum. Giving students a "pre-test" at the start of a new class is an excellent idea as it gives you an idea of where you will need to concentrate your teaching. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
What about asking questions first to get a feel of the student's current knowledge.
asking questions after the material is presented and leading them to the answer is key
