Encouraging student questions

I find that alot of students are afraid to ask to ask questions, because they don't want to be labeled 'stupid'. I always say at the start of each class that there are no stupid question, except the ones not asked.

I try to answer all questions as completly and as accuratly as I can. Once that precident is set, students seem to see me as approachable and I'm surprised as each class cycles in at the amount of very basic questions that I get. Insuring that they understand the fundamental as well as the more advanced scenario that prompted the question in the first place.

This is true. I try my best to make the classroom as open and none-judgemental environment as i can.
