students learning types

i have been doing this for 6 years now, and the one major thing i have learnd is that no matter what the students learning style is, 3 weeks is not enough time to help them baised on there learning style. i wish i had more time.

Wow Richard - three weeks is indeed short! It sounds like you have managed to adapt well, however. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

Three weeks IS short. It takes me a week and a half just to start putting names with faces! But once I'm able to start working one-on-one with them in a lab environment, I start to understand their individual learning types and I can try to adjust the lessons to their needs.

Hi Steve- Thanks for your post to the forum. This is wht we must ALWAYS make every effort to in every class try to vary our delivery to addtress all of the learning styles. This means that we wil not spend 3 weeks solely lecturing. We will add visual aids ( YouTube clips, vidios,Powerpoints) If relevant some hands-on activities.) Yes, it takes more advance prep but it works!! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

Hi Steve- I agree that in 3 weeks of contact time it is tough to establish relationships with students. So this is where we have to be at the classroom door every day way before our students, and give them our email addresses - basically be as available as possible. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

3 weeks is a very short time to conect with most students
