Hi Brian, Every faculty member that I have worked with has said the same thing!! I think that we are programmed to throw out the correct answers and have to restrain ourselves. Best wishes - Susan

I have found that asking questions and WAITING for the answer from the class or a spesific student is by far the hardest thing for me to do and being able to build on the 1st question comes in a close second. But practice makes permanant and I do see great results when I execute these techniques.
Asking a pointed question is a matter of art. A teacher is supposed to be specialy trained to ask questions and even before asking she needs to make sure that she knows the students well enough to regulate the question's level of difficulty in order to be confident about the quality of students answers
Hi Mark - Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes Mark, It does take some extra effort to really get to know our students but the payoff is huge!
Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
