My door is open any time

I would like to just make a small note. I love questions and answer sessions in class. I use many of the tech. talked about in this lesson.
I just wanted to mention that I never stop with questions and answers. All my studets know anytime my office door is open they can have a question and answer session with me.
I am willing to put aside what ever I'm working on to help the student. If I can not offer my time then I just shut my door.
My door is open about 99.9% of my day to students.
The point I'm trying to make is that I think teachers should be accessible to students as much as they can be.

I agree with this concept and also take questions in the hall or any other time a student asks them. I make myself available when a student requests time if at all possible. If I can't take the time at the minute I will schedule it as soon as possible.

Hi Mark, That is the ideal attitude when dealing with students. I like to think of them as my customers and treat them with the respect that they deserve. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan

Likewise I also agree. I also think that if there are times when we know we're not busy or having office hours and the student is available at an odd time, then we should try our best to make an effort to meet and help that student.

I agree with your comments 100%. I use the open door policy as well. There are times when students would rather discuss issues outside of the classroom setting.

You know Mark I think your rite! But in my four years of teaching i had to bring the student back on track with the question at hand! When i leave my office door open its always about making up a quiz or test, due to the student being absent because of family issuses. I will keep my door open and just listen and see if I can be of any help.

Happy listening
