Questions that are Unclear

Often times in my teaching experience I find that rewording a question and also stating the questions in various ways has assisted me with making a question more clear.

Sometimes I will challenge the students with abstract questions. Not that they are unclear, but I will take them out of the box and give them the chance to re-phrase them. They often tease me about this, then they realize what I'm doing and it becomes a fun and memorable way to lock in the information.

I find my self rewording questions all the time in class.

Hi Mia, I agree - that is an important component of effective questioning.
