Figure it out...

After a long lecture or demo, I like to let the students discuss and plan amongst themselves before they get to work. It allows them to transition from one style of accepting information into physical action.

That is exactly what I do in my math class. There is quite a bit of information that was just thrown at the students and it is like they need time to digest the information for a while before they are able to apply it to either their homework or any other activity following the information.
