Evaluating student
It is helpful to evaluate the student comprehension of the topic at the beginning of the class and also evaluate at the end of the class. By asking them questions, it provides me with information on the level of their knowledge. At the end of the class, it gives me an overview of the level of comprehension from the students.
What is your best practice to evaluate the student knowledge.
This is an excellent suggestion. I will add the questions from last session to my format.

Hi Jennifer- Starting each new class with a brief review of what was covered in the previous class is an excellent practice. Susan
In order to better assess my class content and the way I want to delivery the information to the class, I ask student to answer, in a written format, a certain number of question that will give me a better picture of their current knowledge and the way the enjoy learning.
I generally starts my classes by asking question of the previous days and finish my class with questions on the topic discussed that same day.
Hi Daniel - I also make sure to check for comprehension at the beginning of a class. Of course we all know that students come with different backgrounds so some may be competent and others not so much. Still, it does give us a baseline of sorts. Summative assessments tell me how far they have come as class ends.
