…that is so true. Often times my students are lacking confidence in themselves before they enter my classroom. Self testing is a great way to encourage them that they can do it!
Self testing is a fantastic way to increase student confidence, as well as allowing them to identify what areas my require more studying.
Hi Saranna, Thanks for your post to the forum. Yes, unfortunately I do detect cheating and plagiarism. As in any role in life - employee, parent, student etc. there are also people who are indeed "lazy" and want good grades for little work. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Hi Christina- Thanks for your post to the forum. As you mention, students are assessing themselves which seems to make a bigger point then when we assess them. I think they take more responsibility for their performance. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
I had never thought of self testing, but it is actually a really great idea. Like you said it will give those the confidence boost they need and on the same point let you know as the instructor that you able to relay the information to their needed ability.
Self-testing is a great idea, each week I make the student do a self-test by make the student come with test questions for the lecture that week.
This is especially good for certain learner types who need a confidence boost on a regular basis.
