GED
it is important to understand the difference between GED holders and high school graduates because it is possible to have a separate knowledge base.
They are somtimes a little more focus depending on their reason for dropping out of school.
I feel GED graduates try harder in class.
Hi Ernest, I have also seen this attitude but interestingly, I also have had nemerous students that were actually so bright that they were bored silly in high school and took the GED so that they could get on to other pursuits. Susan

I often encounter GED grads who seem to feel that their GED education is somehow "inferior" to what they would have received had they been able to go the traditional route. This belief often seems to manifest itself as a lack of self-confidence and doubt in their ability to do well.
I think that we also have to be cognizant of where these students are "coming from" in this dimension and work with them to overcome this "I only have a GED" thinking. Are others encountering this same lack of self-confidence and - for lack of a better word - almost "defeatist" attitude among their GED grads?
