It also depends on if it is a final exam or the first one of the course. final exams in my opinion should be comprehensive. these exams typically run at least 75-100 questions.

HI Michael- Thanks for your post to the forum! Interesting question - I think that it depends on what you are trying to determine. If you want to know if they understood how to choose visual aids for speaking to a specific audience (if you had a Public Speaking class)you might just use a short quiz. However if you were trying to determine if they know how to effectively design a complete presntation you would want to use a much more extensive assessment.
