Hi Cynthia- Thanks for your post to the forum. Revising assessments so dramatically is always challenging but it is wonderful that you are keeping abreast of what is happening with the industry accrediting agencies. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
Test writing is also very difficult when you are teaching a program that involves a national exam for registry at the conclusion. The national exams have changed so much over the last 2 years, I am finding that we are rethinking how we are constructing exams. The boards are more critical thinking based now, so we are changing all of our exams to be the same. It becomes quite difficult for some subject matter.
Hi Jason- I don't know anyone who actually enjoys writing tests but, as you point out, it does ensure that we are assessing what we are teaching. Susan
test writing is difficult but you can positively make sure you've tested what you are teaching
Test writing actually is difficult if you are to test knowledge at the different levels of Blooms taxonomy. The first levels are fairly easy, but when you are looking for analysis, synthesis and evaluation at the senior levels, multiple choice, matching, true/false are not appropriate
HI Daniel - Thanks for your post to the forum. I am so happy that you have gotten some useful information from this class! Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career. Susan
