Testing
Make sure tests a valid and reliable. Many of our tests are created for our deparment, and they do not always measure the content. I have to either supplement the course material or delete the question from the test.
I strongly feel that an instructor should be allowed to make their own test. Instead of having the test to be created by the department
I well around exam should adhere to the the different learning styles.
I have found it is always to make questions by ourseves rather than going to the question bank and even if you use the question bank edit to the ways you have taught them.
I like tests that don't set the student up for failure. I want my students to learn whats important and make sure they know it by repeating informatiion over and over again and letting them know how important it is to know, to test a student on something thats not been covered is setting them up for failure.
What I attempt to do is maybe take questions from a bank or from the text and then put them in my language (if it is different). Students have been listening to me and responding to me, so I believe it is just easier while students are learning.
