Using Multiple Testing Formats
If we as instructors use multiple testing formats for our students, because of the difference in formats the student will need to put forth perhaps a little more effect for the exam. This is to the benefit of the student.
I agree that multiple testing formats makes the student have to be able to disseminate incorrect answers; thereby, learning has a more broader scope.
This is true and when you look at testing for licensures and certifications, it is usually a multilple choice question test.
Yes, it might be a gamble but a multiple choice test is a know it or don't know it test.

i agree completely. this is the only way to completely assess the students knowledge. multiple choice tests are more like a gamble instead of a test.
I agree. You don't provide much challenge if the process of elimmination is always used. I've found that a combo of t/f , word matching, & multiple choice, an a essay extra credit question correctly evaluates their knowledge of course material.
