Testing format
does anyone notice that several students tend to leave the fill in the blank questions blank?
Yes , I do try to stay away from giving fill in blank questions. Most students find this the hardest to deal with question format. There less chance for guessing but it is a very good measure of student learning. I do prefer multiple choice questions that require them to do a lot of analytical thinking. True or False formats sometimes become tricky. But essays are good to show even student's personalities.
yes it does seem to be the big ones they miss all the time
I have an issue with reformating my quizzes and test. I alway try to move questions/answers around or change a previous multiple choice question into a fill in the blank after I have given that test to prevent memorization and to promote knowledge. However, it is so time consuming and taxing.
This is a chance for the student to focus on the focal points addressed during class!
