testing

i feel that some standardize testing can be graded on a scale which then leads me to think that they don't get a clear view of what your class has learned. how can these kinds of test grade the students taking them evenly?

I tend to agree with you, but I would have to take a couple of things into account. If it's standardized, then it should be a reliable and valid test. Then, based on the material covered, I can test to the course objectives. I think it's easier when you are testing at the knowledge level, but as you go up in Bloom's Taxonomy, from knowledge to comprehension en route to evaluation, the standardized test would not be appropriate.
