Using Multiple Testing Methods
I am curious to know what people think about using a wide range of these methods of assessment in a single exam. I currently have exams that utilize multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and essays. Is combining assessment types a good method to use?
Our school system has standardized tests that we get from Corporate. They utilize multiple-choice and true/false questions. Our course material incorporates all forms except essay.
I find that multiple choice is much easier for the students and instructors. The essay questions really make the students think.
I frequently use multiple assessment methods
in assessing students because I believe it
measures the test taking strengths and
weaknesses of students.
