Regarding tests

Multiple choice questions require greater thinking on the part of the student as opposed to "true or False" questions. However, true or false questions are easier to compose.

We use both multiple and true and false type questions but I think multiple questions will give you a better idea if they are learning the subject.

Hi Aaron, Thanks for your post to the forum. That is an excellent reason to review our assessments regularly. Best wishes for continued success in your teaching career.

I've noticed that students tend to get T/F questions wrong due to the wording of the questions. Something I've noticed from using tests that come with the book, etc. After rewriting the questions I've noticed a slight improvement in the scores.

Raphael: Yes, True and False are much easier to compose with multiple choice being more on the difficult choice. I don't know why though, many students get the true-false questions wrong. I wonder if it is related to the volume of paper written for the other classes. Would be nice to knpw
