Effective Assessments

Hi,
Should assessments be given daily?
Thanks,
Andy

The course I am currently teaching meets twice a week. The first class of the week, I review the test information. The second class of the week I give an assessment of the material from the class before. It keeps the material current in the students mind. At the end of the term I use the weekly assessments as a review for the Final Exam. It works quite well for my class.

I am agree with you Susan, weekly assessment help students and instructor to know where students needs more help and which part of lecture needs more example or explanation to help student to learn more.

If you have enough time in your module to do weekly assessments it can be done but based upon the course. However, assessments measures your students knowledge of what they have acquired through learning. I tend to use multiple assessments in my classroom and often change them each module I have.

Hi Andrew, I prefer weekly assessments as students who may be working may have to study just a few days per week.
