The Instructor is reponsible for providing a positive environment for learning and engaging the
students.
Absolutely, positive teaching is more than a simple no. it is more a you-are able, you -can-get-it kind of feeling transmitted to your students.
Yes! No can actually be a very positive thing & often times is the most positive answer we can give to someone else.

Being positive is an attitute in a teaching setting, you can say no and still be positive, that is what enhences trust and motivation.

I agree with your statement because the majority of my students are in abusive relationships or has not support system. With that being said, I constantly find myself giving my students encouraging word and teaching them about professionalism. So, I feel that my encouraging words has really helped my students confidence level and morale.
It is important to have a positive attitude when teaching, it enhences optimum learning atmosphere for the students.
I see the need for balance here students must have confidence in my knowledge of topic ,but I also have to be approachable an non threatening ,or it does them no good.
I totally agree with this statement. Bringing a positive attitude with a fun approach to the subject encourages students to want to learn and ask questions. Too many times, I have heard of an instructor coming in and they have the class laid out a certain way and they do not change. That instructors interacting with some of the student is condescending and rued. I have also heard that instructor bash other instructors in their teaching style. This type of instructor in counterproductive to the students and puts doubt in their minds of the other instructors and the school.
I agree with your comment, Leslie. I find that enthusiasm and a positive attitude on the part of the instructor facilitates the learning process but also encourages the students to try something new. My classes focus on clinical skills and by radiating a "you can do it" attitude they can approach the task with confidence versus trepidation.
An instructor must present an air of knowledge, positiveness, confidence and professionalism without seeming arrogant.
I find that a positive attitude during lecture or discussion always brings better engagement from the students, thus better understanding of the subject.
I agree, it seems that new teachers can feel threatened easily by students, especially when the new teacher isn't fully comfortable with the process of teaching. A new teacher needs to respect the student and understand the frustrations and concerns of students as they teach.
The students I teach require that we provide them with information that is positively presented. They are very experienced students and require being treated respectively.
