Blue

How do you feel about blue painted classrooms? I think they are great and students are productive.

My classroom is painted dark green on one wall, rust on another, and light yellow on the two opposite walls! How do you like them apples… I would very much like to repaint my classroom to a more calming colour, like blue, but corporate would have a cow… I’ll just have to settle for a blue background for my power points.

Hi April!

Blue and green are earthy colors that have a naturally soothing effect on people. Then we can add our bright colors in areas where we want to emphasize information.

Good job!

I love the idea. Especially a a pale peacock blue - which is a blue/green mix. I think this would provide students with a wonderful atmosphere where they felt come and safe to explore.

Blue is a calming color and non distracting as long it is not an invading (strong deep blue).Pastel is sometimes used in hospital, even green for that matter. This way students may focus better on their study.

I have taught in a blue and green classroom and then the following class was in a yellow and red classroom. The yellow and red class was difficult to keep the students focused on the subject. The blue green room was a dream come true.

Blue classrooms are ok particularly for contentious subjects due to the calming nature. however for tedious subjects they may place students to sleep.

I have a room with a blue stripe around the walls. It does make a difference and helps to calm the learners.

I would like to try blue. My room was decorated using Royal Purple for a theme. I call it the Barney room. It takes getting used to, but it can be a shock when you first enter the room.

I have never had ablue classroom. I would like to give it a try. Even if only I felt better I think it would be worth it.
