colors

should multi colors be used in a class room or should just one color be used

Hi Don!

We can take lessons from our elementary school teachers. Everything in school was bright and cheerful.

Good work!

I agree any type of learning institution needs a varitey of colors, this makes the learner feel calm and relaxed.

Hi Nicole!

Please take a look at the following website - some interesting facts about color. Be sure to look at the reference area as well.

I agree with your choice of wall colours, in general, if one has the choice of colour for your classroom walls, etc it is best to choose clear colours (mixed with white) rather than muddy colours (mixed with black). The differance between the 2 can make all of the difference in a learning environment.

Agree. I cannot do much with the rooms assigned to me. Frequently I am in temporary facilities as an exported class. However, using colored paper for particular handouts has been useful for me and the students fo rthe reasons listed in the lesson.

There are other practical applications, too. In one exercise, it keeps players honest since their teams are color coded (corresponding to handouts). It makes the game intriguing and a quick visual check protects the integrity of the exercise.

I have never given this much thought-but I will now

I think it should be dependant upon the topic, objectives, and style of the facilitator and learners. I am a visual learner and I learn in color. I use color in my lectures and my students like it because not many do. I do change it up a bit and don't over do it.

I am going to try to use different colored paper for reviews. I do use colors for breaking down spelling words for the students. I think colors help to associate things in the brain.

I tell my student to use mult-colored folders for better organization.

I have used multi calming colors for students and it had worked well. I make sure that the color is visable and that everyone feels okay with the multi colors.

You must be very careful with color-I once used a potpourri of exciting colors in a power point and one of my students had a seizure. I now only use the colors of my aura because I know they are safe--combined with essential oils and gregorian chants my students are calmer and learn better.

We use earth tones that seem to relax & calm the students. A friendly atmosphere tends to enhance learning. J.P.

Greetings Mike!

Anything that helps to engage students is a very worthwhile effort. I have used different colored handouts for each section of the text. I find that it helps when students are reviewing for exams.

Good job!

I use many multi-colored images for my students during lecture and as handouts for the students to study and use as learning guides. I teach anatomy and physiology and the use of colored images are of great asset to me when lecturing about a specific organ or structure.

Depending on the desired out come. Colors can invoke different responces depending on the color used during a learning process.

i think that our school does well and uses themes and industry posters . this utilizes a lot of colors and sometimes a certain industry leader will sponsor a room and this also makes for some good calming colors.

Hi Charles!

Multi-colors can be used in a classroom. I typically try to use primary colors for displays or activities just because I feel like they are most accepted. Classroom walls are best in light blues or greens which are soothing and conducive to learning. I often use pastel paper for copying handout materials or for emphasizing certain information.

Hope this helps!

Keep up the good work!
