ATTENTION GETTERS
I always try to put homework assignments on different colored paper, because it not only makes the assignment more noticeable and students are less likely to forget that they have the assignment but pastel colors are also found to be more calming which will be more of a motivation to tackle the assignment and get it done. I think the calming color gives off a non threatining vibe to the project.
Kelly,
color coding is a great idea & does help them to distinguish between sections.

I like to use bright primary colors and shades of similar colors for homework assignments, exercises, and lab work. I think that using the different primary colors helps the student stay more organized too. The student just has to group the same colors or shades of color together and all the home work, exercises or Lab work can be put together. All the sheets can be easily located by the the student according to color.
My students have given positive feedback about how everything is color coded.
KARINA,
yes the open-ended questions are a great way to engage students in both large & small group discussions.

I like the idea of just mixing it up once in awhile.
I find color paper is eccential to organizing, both to student snd myself.
I was always taught that bright colors help stimulate the learning process like reds, blues, greens. However this is just my opinion.
LaTonya,
This is a great idea LaTonya that helps students not only with being calm, but also with organization.
