The Classroom

The use of peripherals really can make the students feel at home in a learning environment. They will have more concentration and are more inspired to learn.. I will try to add music this time, the 60 BPM. I'm excited to experience the outcome.

I have had music from another classroom carry through the walls and disrupt my classroom. Music is great, but be aware of other activities.

Betty,
yes, each individual class is different as far as what helps them, but this can be a great way to really help the learners prepare.

I love the idea of using music at the start of class to set the mood. I will buy some calming oils to spritz in the room, especially on test days.

i have used music in the classroom on several occasions. it helps to mimic the spa environment and keep the students at a smooth working pace. i agree that it helps to limit the idle chit chat, as they have something to listen to, other then the person sitting next to them.

I dont think music can increase the learning envornment, except in rare occasions.

I have found that by introducing music in to my classroom it has calmed the climate greatly. This small addition has reduced the idle chit chat as well as created an atmosphere that mimics the environment that they will be in once they enter the industry.

I also like adding music to me music calm the soul.

Romeo,

it really is often the little "extras" that can help create that positive classroom environment.
