I like color because it helps the students that are visual learners reference the materials.I use colorful paper to help students notice their homework among other things in their bookbag.
As noted in the material, the usefulness of color can be enhanced (or reduced, I suppose) by placing it in a learning context within the classroom environment in order to create some "common experience" of the color for the learners. In this way, preconceived notions or reactions to a given color that vary between idividual learners can be overcome.
