Classroom decorations

Classroom should be decorated according to the lessons that is being taught. All classroom should be standarized with equipment for all instructors

I have a problem with institutions who have drab boring walls, inadequate seating or desks, no variety which promotes a very dry and uninspiring learning environment for students. I believe colleges need to do invest more in classroom differentiation and promote color in the classroom...brighten it up for the students and the instructors!! I have often thought that if I were administrator and had the authority to do so I would have each classroom have a theme instead of a number...ENCOURAGE, INSPIRE, CREATE, EDUCATE, MOTIVATE, NURTURE, etc...and this would be represented in the decoration of the room.

Decorating per lesson is a great idea. I also like to give the students a glimpse into future by letting them see snippets of what they are working toward. It helps to keep their interests piqued and they make little connections as they go forward.

Sherry,
unfortunately this is the case often. One idea would be experimenting with your own handouts to see how you can liven things up that way.

I would love to decorate my classroom but since that it is a shared classroom with other programs, it is difficult to decorate.

Kevin,
this is a great way to inspire them & get them motivated.

I agree, I also decorate my classroom walls with students projects. I have on display some of my own work as well, which the students get a kick out of seeing their projects next to mine. I always work in the work on display as a visual aid while lecturing or reviewing.

Kimberly,
this is a good idea as it can help the students really take interest & ownership of the class.

Getting students to help add to decorations may be a great way to get students involved with the topic at a personal level.

I decorate my classroom with posters that prevoius students and upper classmen have done as projects. The new students can see and read about things they may not have know and they look forward to having their work up for future students!

I agree with the decorating, per lesson taught

Latasha ,
good point made here. Decorations are very good & we also want to make sure that we have the equipment new need to do our jobs as professionally as possible.
