Games

Creating Games are fun and will help students learn!

Sagar,
excellent point & one that we should all be cognizant of.

Ryan Meers, Ph.D.

I agree that games can be fun. However, I have also noticed that if the student is not aware of the game (cultural difffrence) they can easily felt left out. Something that we make for granted like Jeopardy of Hangman, can be challenging and isolating if you are not aware of the basic rules.

Joan,
the games really are a great way to engage the students.

I agree utilizing games in the classroom not only reinforces the lesson but increases their retention and motivation to want to learn.

it helps reinforce the material and also makes learning fun

My students love to play games. I like to keep them until the end of the lesson though. Or even the following day. That way i can use it as a way to review and reflect on the days material.

i agree, games do motivate and also makes them want to do better when answers come out incorrectly

Yes they are. I find that they help reenforce the information too. It also makes reviewing fun so the info sticks.

I find that games during the debriefing phase of class motivates the students to want to learn because no one wants to loose a game.
