I agree, the lecture does not have to be a boring procedure; however, it must be done in some cases (depending on the course that the instructor is teaching). I give stories, ask students for their own personal stories, and engage the students in discussions that are based on current topics. I have found that videos and group activities are very engaging, and it is a way to mix up the boring lecture. Even though I use these different techniques, I still find that my students get bored during the 100 minutes of class time. So, I definitely plan to incorporate some of the techniques that I am learning throughout this course.

This is true because if The lecture is boring you can lose students attention, and can send a message of you not being prepare for school.

add colorful stories to lecture as you go to give added insight to the lecture

I totally agree, you have to engage the students throughout lecture. You can't just give a speech. I enjoy mixing the scenery up. Instead of having the lecture in the same classroom everyday I try to take them to the library, just to mix it up a little.
