stimulation

Keeping students engaged as well as interacting with one another keeps their mind stimulated

Simulation is an excellent tool in healthcare and is being used more and more to teach studetns how to react in emergency situations. This takes away the safety factor (yes flight or fright is activated) but no true medical simulation is a stand-alone event. Debriefing after becomes the most important part of the simulation, including teaching students how to stay calmer.

I try and tech the lesson using activities and sketches on the whiteboard and lots of students seem to enjoy it. i use the lesson plan on powerpoint to debreif. On the other side i get some students who get mad thinking we are wasting time because they are so used to go through the power point presentations.

This is so true. It is good to stimulate the mind.

Stimulation is very important with student learning. I have a lot of activities that the students have to simmulate in my classes for surgical speciliaties. It really works.

Jonathan,

music can be a great transition item that can reengage them in the class & information.

I have used video's in classes but I had not thought of music. The other day I put on some light rock as students returned from break. I found them more engaged than usual. I will be experimenting with types of music in the future.

Nicole,
this is so true & there are many creative ways to accomplish this.
