Lorenzo,
so true! And it is very important that we help our students learn how to respectfully disagree & discuss at this earlier point in their careers/lives.

In my opinion some of the most important learning comes when members of the same group experience conflicts or differences of opinion with one another. Conflict can arise for a number of reasons, but the key is to make sure that students are able to recognize the value of alternative viewpoints and the benefits of having team members with diverse experiences. This helps them to evaluate which alternatives best allow them to complete their objectives, and it can also teach them how to negotiate and compromise in order to find a solution that they all can agree on.

Raquel,
this is exactly right & it also helps them appreciate the diversity of strengths & abilities that can be used.

Group learning is a great way to get students to ineract and learn from others. When paired in groups it teaches the student that everyone can play a role in learning and gives everyone an opportunity to work together as you may have to work together on the job to accomplish a goal.
