this is a great point. Repetition is not just a tool to memorize verbally or words but also to memorize actions, parts, procedures, etc.

I like using a in class lab on drum trainers where the student will practice taking them apart and putting them back together again over and over and over again....I find that the repetition helps them when they are faced with doing one on a live car.
One has to be careful not to make the activity feel childish. Classroom activity planned correctly can stimulate the learning process and understanding
